How to Clear and Balance Your Own Chakras in 10 Minutes

If you have read or heard any metaphysical books or Cd's lately you may have come across the term Chakra clearing or Chakra balancing.

Many of the questions I am asked in my energy work are questions about Chakras and Chakra balancing. It is one of the procedures I perform with folks, as do many energy and light workers. Although most will do it on you there are very few who will explain how you can do it yourself.

Like many things energy workers do - it sounds mysterious and magical and some folks like to keep the knowledge to themselves to add to the mystique.

So as to keep this brief I am not going into a detailed description of what everything your Chakras are and what they all influence There are entire books on that subject alone so we will stick to just the basics.

Chakra is a Sanskrit word that translates approximately as "spinning wheel" or "vortex". It is a set of 7 major energy centers in our body. There are also many minor chakras, but most people only concern themselves with the 7 major ones as these are the most critical.

Your chakras are located in your body and also extend out the front and back. Imagine small tornadoes, spinning with the tops (large part) extending a bit beyond your physical body and the base (small end) at the spine. These little tornado shaped energy funnels draw in energy.

Description of The 7 Chakras

The 1st chakra is the lowest in your body and is usually called the "root" chakra. It is located at the end of your spine. The color associated with it is red.

The 2nd chakra is the "sacral" or sexual" chakra and is located below the naval in the lower abdomen. The color associated with it is orange.

The 3rd chakra is the "solar plexus" chakra and is located at the base of the sternum. below the naval. The color associated with it is yellow.

The 4th chakra is the "heart" chakra and located behind your heart in the center of your chest. The color associated with it is green or sometimes pink.

The 5th chakra is the throat chakra and is located at the base of the larynx in the throat area. The color associated with it is blue.

The 6th chakra is the "brow" or "third eye" chakra and is located in the center of the head, slightly above and in between the eyebrows. The color associated with it is indigo.

The 7th chakra is the "crown" chakra and is located at the top of the head. The color associated with it is gold, violet or white.

Chakras are about the size of a CD and resemble a spinning wheel. Each chakra has 2 "tornado" like parts, one extending out in front and one extending out behind your body, except for the crown chakra which has a third tornado like part extending above your head as well.

Do It Yourself Chakra Balancing and Clearing

The basics of balancing or clearing your chakras is based on thousands of years of observations and meditation. They have been identified by many belief systems and cultures.

This relaxation and energy technique is recognized world wide for its rejuvenating and healing power.

Read the descriptions above until you can make a good mental image of your chakras, as this mental image is what you will be working with to do your own chakra purification.

In a healthy, fully functioning person the chakras should all be close to the same size and spinning in the same direction. They should be clean and translucent and fully functional with no blockages.

Unfortunately in our society, since very few people pay any attention to chakras, in most folks they are not functioning as well as they can. When they malfunction, poor health, pain, mental problems and other unwanted conditions can manifest. That is why most light workers spend much time working with them.

No one is immune. As a lightworker I balance and cleanse my chakras every single morning. It is a rare morning that I can't perceive a blockage, a dark spot or other undesirable stuff going on in at least one of my chakras. To me purifying my chakras it as natural as taking a shower.

OK - so I will share my simple, under 10 minute routine. I'm not saying that my way is the only correct way to do this, but it works great for me and I feel energized and refreshed when I am done. There are as many different methods to do chakra cleansing and balancing, this is the one I find most effective.

First, say your prayers, meditate, or whatever you do to get centered. I find that it only works if my mind is in a peaceful and centered state. Some folks achieve this with prayer or meditation, but anything that makes you feel peaceful will do. For those closely connected with their pets - sometimes simply concentrating on petting your dog or cat can bring this state.

Once centered you will visualize your chakras. Don't worry if you feel you can't "see" them perfectly in your mind - almost no one can when they start doing this. As you do this regularly seeing them will become clearer and clearer. Practice makes perfect and you needn't worry about making it perfect at the beginning.

Start with the 1st chakra. Visualize it in your mind. Use the color (red) and see it as an orb. Look at it closely in your mind. Does it look clean and spotless, or do you see any spots? Your mind will get very good at this. It you feel you can't see it, then imagine whether it has spots or not. Your imagination is the key to everything spiritual and it is highly accurate at telling you what is there.

Now imagine a golden beam of light shining on your 1st chakra. This golden beam is the light of Universal energy, the power that flows through everything and gives it life. It is God's light, for lack of a better definition.

Ask God or Jesus or your Guides or Angels to focus the beam on your root chakra. Tell them you want it to burn away any impurities or blockages and to open the chakra up to positive energy. Now try to feel the light shining on your chakra. It may be difficult at first to perceive it, but with practice you will soon feel a tingling or goosebumps like sensation where your chakra is.

Allow your intuition to tell you when the light has done the job and burned away the dark spots and blockages. In most cases under a minute is necessary. As with all of this with practice it will become way more obvious.

When your intuition tells you it has been cleansed and purified then thank God or Jesus or your Guides or Angels for their help and ask them to seal out the negative energies that are not in your best interests.

Now move up to the 2nd chakra and go through the same procedure. Work your way up to the 7th chakra, concentrating on each one individually. This should take less than 10 minutes.

Once you have purified your crown chakra then look at all 7 in your mind's eye as a stack, at once. Perceive whether they are all the same size or whether there are a few large or smaller ones. Request from God or Jesus or your Guides or Angels that they balance them all to the same size and get all of the vortexes spinning in the same direction.

Hold the image in your mind and "imagine" them shifting to the same size and the vortexes spinning in the same direction. At first it may seem like a fantasy - but with practice you will be able to see it happening.

Don't worry if you can't see all of this perfectly in the beginning. It takes repetition to fully perceive what is going on. Have faith and it will be so.

Once your intuition tells you they are balanced, thank God or Jesus or your Guides or Angels for their assistance.

Then have a joyous, healthy and prosperous day, knowing that you have balanced and purified your chakras, as truth seekers have been doing for thousands of years.
